How Do I Get Rid of My Headache?

By Dr. Ryan Lee

If you get headaches, you are not alone!

90% of us experience some form of a headache each year.

Headaches are the second most common reason to call out sick to work, right behind a flair up of lower back pain.

95 percent of headaches are called primary headaches. These include tension headaches, migraines, and cluster headaches. Of those listed, tension headaches are by far the most common.

And our modern lifestyles, filled with lots of time looking down at our phones and computers, are often to blame.

This forward head posture is terrible for our spines, as it puts unnecessary stress and strain on the muscles and joints in our neck. Often, this leads to misaligned vertebra, and over time, these misalignments create bad biomechanics and neurological dysfunction that will result in degeneration of our spine if left untreated.

So what’s the answer to getting rid of those headaches?

Have you tried any of the typical suggestions below?

– Sleeping it off

– Toughing it out, ignoring the pain

– Popping some pills in hopes of relief

If you answered yes to any of those questions, there is a better option available.

The answer is chiropractic adjustments.

Chiropractic care gently corrects spinal misalignments and takes the stress and strain off our neck, resulting in less headaches and migraines!

I have personally seen patients who suffered from severe migraines 7 days a week go through chiropractic care and walk away with no more symptoms!

Chiropractic care isn’t satisfied to just treat the symptoms of your pain. Rather, it tackles the root issue and works to bring holistic correction to the affected area.

If our word isn’t enough, let the studies speak for themselves!

In a 2011 study performed by, The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, (1) showed that regular chiropractic care, including spinal manipulation, improved migraine and tension headaches.

A report in 2014 by the same group (2) also noted that chiropractic intervention showed improvement in acute and chronic bouts of neck pain.

So what’s keeping you from feeling better?

If you have tried everything to fix your headaches to no avail, or are tired of taking medications for your headaches, give us a call at (423)-498-3400 and let us help you get back to what you need and love to do!
